Getting friends and people involved??Volunteers?

I am this really chill nice 20 year girl who really is trying to make a difference really focused on my goal and j ust triyng to get the community active inhelping and leading I thought it would be a good idea to get young adults like me who would like to commit to going around and volunteering in important big events like cancer events...feeding the homeless on Christmas..thank giving etc...its kinda christian based. I just want to get the young adults out to help people around the community and make a difference in someones life. I thought it would be easy to find people who would like to get out and help and do something different but I was soooo wrong lol I've realized nobody really cares and a lot of people are kinda of busy which I understand..A lot of people have dissed me and laughed at my idea..i am trying to get people involved and people are kinda like whatever is this possible to do or am I just crazy lol sorry for lousy sentence structure in a hurry
