Pavlik vs miranda. why was pavlik the underdog on this fight>?

ok like many of you was excited for this fight for awhile in fact after this fight i just changed channels because taylor vs spinks was going to be annoying. after watching that brutal onlsaught why was pavlik the underdog in that fight? he was clearly the much better fighter and it looked almost unfair from start to finish. what do you think ?
