Was it you or her mother that went into a "bipolar induced episode"? If it was her then she has a mental problem that clouds her judgment. If it was you, she may feel that you could be a danger to her daughter. Either way I think the whole problem is based on the bipolar illness. Personally, I think you have treated them all extremely well, better than you should. I think you do sound mature. I think that you are very kind and caring. I think that if it wasn't for this illness everything would be fine. Most parents are worried at first when they don't know the boyfriend well, not after they have known him for years and have seen how caring he is. You girlfriend is lucky to have you even though her mother doesn't see it. I think you should continue to see her when you can. It all depends on who has bipolar as to what you should do. I know a guy with bipolar so I know a little about the illness. Trust me - that illness changes people's behavior so severely and even their way of thinking.
