Has anyone had/have a dog that was a cryptochid?

I have a puppy. He is over 8 months old. The vet informed me when he was at a younger age at that his testicles didn't seem to be dropping into place. He is still in the same boat now and will have to have them surgically removed. He is not wanting to hold his urine. He will get let out and he will urinate twice before we go to bed. By morning which is about 7 hours he has peed all in his kennel. He is housebroken but he can't seem to hold it for very long. I have kennel trained with using the method to make his area smaller so he won't want to go in his area. This hasn't worked either. Is this a symptom of this or is he just being stubborn? Does anyone have any suggestions?
