First things first, establish eye contact; depending on her reaction, you make your next move. If she smiles or maintains longer-than-expected eye contact (not a creeped out kind of look), a simple "hi" will do. At a bar or dance club, everybody has their shield up; talking is difficult because of the noise; also, keep in mind that you will not find a lonely, pretty woman at a bar. 99.999999% of the time they are with a friend or friends, which makes it difficult to approach, especially when you are alone. I reccommend a book store or coffee shop, that is where you will find neat, foxy women looking for someone to intrigue her; their shields are almost always down at these kinds of places.
